'In yet another powerful collaboration, aluminium chair manufactuer, Emeco have again joined forces with international design icon Frank Gehry to produce a unique large-scale bench. The piece, named Tuyomyo (Spanish for ‘yours and mine’) will be presented during the Salone del Mobile in Milan this April, moving to New York in May.
The second time that Gehry and Emeco have cooperated on a project, this new piece uses 80% recycled aluminium components and employs CNC and aircraft manufacturing technology and hand craftsmanship – combining Gehry’s intuitive design and Emeco’s expertise with aluminium. Gehry’s mandate for the design was simple: “The form has to be free and light. It must be structural, and at the same time poetic. A little dangerous.”'
